Mary White-Smith

Mary Christine White-Smith, was born to the late Mary Westmoreland Barwick and the late Cleve Barwick, on January 28,1947, in Braeholm Wva. The family relocated to Columbus Ohio and “Tine” as she was affectionally called was educated in the Columbus School System.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Baptist Faith. She is currently a member of Second Shiloh Baptist Church.

Tine, was very family oriented and enjoyed coordinating family functions. Her most recent endeavor was hosting the March birthday celebration for family members born in March. One of her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary was married to the late Eugene White, and was the proud mother of Dionne, Eugene, Katrina(deceased) and La Tayna. Later in life she was united in marriage to Ronald Smith. They shared 26 years of married bliss. She was employed by Kroger and St. Ann Hospital, retiring from St. Ann.

Tine, was called into eternal rest on Sunday May 1, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Katrina, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Mary will be lovingly be remembered by husband, Ronald; children, Dionne(Mark) Whitfield, Eugene “Geno” White, and LaTayna White; brother, Leon (Lillian) Barwick; sisters, Willia Pendarvis and Willene M. Barwick; grandchildren, Brandi (Nia)Ward, April (LeNeal) Jones, Kiarra Ward, Porshia White, Zaire White,Zion White, Phantasia White, Paul Hodge, Monae (Keith) Davis, and Martina Hodge; 22 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eloise Wallace; brother-in-law, Mario Howard; special friends, Florence Bannerman and cousin/sister N. Jean Neighbarger; “fur baby” her dog, Jasmine; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, May 9, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
