Michael Vincent Butler

Michael Vincent Butler, age 63, was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on July 23, 1957. He was the third child born to Vincent T. Butler and Marie Hill Butler. He was reared in Columbus, OH and attended Columbus Public Schools. Michael passed on October 8, 2020 at Ohio State University Hospital East.

When it came to sports, Michael liked college football and all women’s sports, from college basketball to the WNBA to track and field. He often said, “women’s sports are more interesting because they really know how to play”. Michael liked science fiction movies, even bad ones; good conversation, especially arguments; and discussing anything culinary.

Michael Vincent Butler was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent T. Butler and Marie Hill Butler; and sister, Victoria Butler.

Michael is survived by children, Michael Vincent (Nichol) Edwards, Vanya Hairston, Brandi Hairston, and Thomas Hairston; grandchildren, Zoe Wynn, Michael Edwards, and Cyncier Edwards; sister, Elaine F. Butler; and a host of cousins and many friends.

According to his wishes, there will not be a funeral service or burial.
