Minister Emanuel Whiteside

Minister Emanuel Whiteside was a lifetime advocate of the Apostolic Assemblies of the World (PAW) and attended the Aenon Bible School to enhance his spiritual leadership and ministry.  He was the family Godfather and left many spiritual blessings to our capital and natural and spiritual children (yalmin).  Proceeding the meaning of his name (smo) which meant “God is with us” (Aba mi atem).  The Late Karl Smith was the guardian of Mr. Whiteside’s soul as pastor at the Church of Christ Apostolic Faith at 1200 Brentnell Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43219 and was the mentor and father in the gospel.  He served in the U. S. Army and fought in the Korean War.  Mr. (Gaverate) Whiteside built many HUD HOMES for Homewood which was founded by George Sekos of Bexley, Ohio.  He was a master with masonry and brick work.  His unexpected departure was on March 23, 2015 and was in the comfort of his own home at 3174 Blueride Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43219.  Mr. (Gaverate) Whiteside was the oldest of four siblings which are Paul (Virginia) Whiteside of Columbus, Samuel Whiteside of Spindale, NC, and Mary Whiteside of Boston, MA.  His Parents were Nettie (Jackson) Whiteside and Preston GoForth Whiteside from Spindale, NC, great grandparents Corey Logan Jackson and Tom Jackson.  The immediate family of eight children consist of the oldest Emanuel Whiteside Jr, Cynthia Whiteside, Bonita Whiteside, Darryl (Bertha) Whiteside, Desmond Whiteside, and Yvette Michelle Whiteside, Jamly Whiteside and the youngest Romell Whiteside, in laws Roy Cooper of Philadelphia, PA and Mary Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio, first  cousins Weldon Littlejohn, Lum Littlejohn , and Naoiam Bristle and  a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.  Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Friday April 3, 2015 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 2100 Aberdeen Ave.  Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
