Miosha Michelle Braxton, born on April 20, 1977, was the cherished daughter of Albert Starks Jr. and Celeste Alexander, both of whom preceded her in death. While her earthly time was limited, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication, especially to her three beloved sons, Jaylen, Jason, and Tristen.

Miosha knew the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. In her early years, Miosha received her education in the Columbus area, attending Mifflin High School, home of the Punchers. She was in the Graduating Class of 1995. Continuing her education, she earned an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State Community College. She also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati. She was certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, a testament to her commitment to the health and well-being of those around her.

Miosha's professional life was marked by many years of service in early childhood education, a field in which she found very fulfilling. Her work made a lasting impact on countless children and families, and her dedication to her work was evident in every job she took on. Miosha was deeply passionate about fostering educational growth, building nurturing environments, and offering support to families

Most recently, Miosha worked as a Care Coordinator at The Buckeye Ranch until her passing, where she continued her mission to help families and children thrive. Prior to that, she served as a Home Visitor at the Child Development Council of Franklin County , facilitating educational activities, offered family guidance, and worked tirelessly to support child development and well-being in the community.

Earlier in her career, Miosha was a Kindergarten Teacher at Berwyn East Academy, a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at Millennium Community School , a Head Start Lead Teacher at the Columbus Urban League, where she developed and executed curricula that nurtured early learning in young children, helping to lay the foundation for their educational success.

Each choice throughout her career demonstrated a single theme and that was, "Helping People". Through every role, Miosha's commitment to helping others remained steadfast. Whether working directly with children, supporting families, or fostering community partnerships, she poured her heart into her work, always striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those she served.

Miosha was a strong and resilient woman who faced life's challenges with remarkable courage, including her battle with illness. Despite the personal struggles she endured, Miosha remained a beacon of hope and determination to her family, friends, and colleagues. Her unwavering spirit was a testament to her strength, and she continued to give selflessly to others even during the most difficult times.

Miosha Michelle Braxton, age 47 passed away on November 20, 2024. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend, whose presence illuminated the lives of everyone around her. She was strong-willed, thoughtful and caring. Her passion for education and family, combined with her dedication to making a difference has left an indelible mark on her community. Miosha will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her unwavering dedication to helping, her amazingly warm smile and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Miosha will be deeply missed by her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons Jaylen Braxton, Jason Braxton-Payne and Tristen Staples-Braxton; her brothers, Ron Braxton, Albert Starks III, and Deshawn Starks; as well as her sisters, Lisa Packer, Monica Taylor, Erica Taylor, Latosha Starks, and Lakesha Starks. Two siblings preceded her in death, brother Darian Braxton and sister Leslie Starks. She also leaves behind a host of loving relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering support.
