Monica L. Cartharn

Monica Latrice Cartharn was born September 13, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio to Eddie Cartharn Sr. and Malinda Cartharn. She was under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor K.C. Washington of New Walk Church of God In Christ where she rededicated her life to Christ.

Monica attended Independence High School. After High school, she worked at A.J. Wright, Schottensteins, Ollie’s and later went on to work at Ohio Thrift as a manager for 9 years. Monica lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed being at church and recording the weekly services. Her favorite hobby was shopping, she was truly a fashionista! and could make anyone laugh! If you didn’t want to laugh, don’t walk into a room where Monica was! Her laughter was contagious and you could not be in a bad mood around her. If you were in a bad mood, her bright, beautiful smile and sense of humor made you forget your troubles and you felt so much better once you left her presence.

Monica was an awesome daughter, sister, “Auntie”, niece, and cousin and friend. No matter what challenges she faced in life, her favorite saying was “I know the Bible is right!” and she always managed to stay strong and kept her faith in God. Monica will be missed by so many that loved her, and her beautiful, warm, encouraging smile and how she lit up a room will always be remembered. She meant so much to everyone who knew her and we are forever grateful for her life and always thanking God for sharing her with us.

Monica departed this life on December 6, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Fannie K. Holley, Ed Cartharn Jr. and Ossie M. Cartharn.

Monica leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Eddie and Malinda Cartharn; two brothers, Eddie Catharn Jr. and Malcolm Catharn; one sister, Sharita (Bryan) McCray; grandfathers, James Mack Ferrell, Marshall Holley and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
