Mother Thelma Hayes

Thelma Hayes, age 93, was born December 4, 1918 to the union of Elder Eugene and Beatrice Roberts. Mother Hayes was called to eternal rest on April 12, 2012 Early years were spent in Cleveland, and a few years later relocated to Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Columbus East High School in 1936. She was a charter member of Cleveland’s Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She returned to Columbus and became a member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Mothers Board. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim Hayes; son Huston Kilgore; brothers George, Marion and Timothy Roberts; sisters Jean McCarthy and Melzetta Smith. She is survived by son, K. Machumu Bandele of Columbus; daughters, Yvonne Parker of Cleveland and Fabienne Butler of Columbus; sister, Myrtle Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, eight Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
