Carl Donte’ Curtis was born in Columbus Ohio on July 3 rd , 1990, to Carl Kevin and Kimberly
Denise Curtis. He is the third of four children from this union. He attended Beechcroft High
School, where he was well-known and liked.
He had a magnetic personality, was attentive, a great listener and committed to understanding
different views and perspectives. His smile was contagious and lit up any room that he entered;
never meeting any strangers!
Donte’ was charismatic, fun-loving, and the life of any party! If you knew "Tae Da Bud" as his
mom called him, you could attest that he was one of the nicest, most kind and polite young men
that you’d ever meet. He was tall in stature and a gentleman at heart!
Donte’ was always happy, upbeat, understanding and positive. He had a love for music and
basketball, and his work ethic was unmatched. He possessed a vast skill set including, lawn care
services, moving and hauling, painting, driving, demolition and apartment rehab, and most
recently a professional car detailer. Donte’ used his gifts and anointing to support his brother as
sole day-to-day operator of Divine Mobile Detail. His customers often marveled at his work,
describing it as, “Cleaning at its best, passing any white glove test!”.
Donte’ was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and protector who valued family. He took great pride in
being a father to his two beautiful boys, who will carry on the respect and legacy of his name.
Donte’ is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl Edward Curtis, Barbara Jean Curtis, and
Augustus Spears; aunt, Carlynn Mae Robinson, and cousin, Albert Darnell Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Carl Kevin Curtis and Kimberly (Ali) Curtis; sons,
Kiyan Carlonte Curtis and Carl “CJ” Donte’ Curtis; siblings, David (Jocelyn) Dowe, Sasha
(Roger) Lloyd, and Devin Curtis; grandmother, Marva Johnson; uncles, Gene (Sheila) Curtis,
Kevin (Fonda) Spears, and Charles (Manuela) Garland; aunt, Lutricia Curtis; three nieces, two
nephews, and a host of cousins and special friends including Cameron Jacox.
Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
