Frederick L. Easley Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick L. Easley. Frederick, a beloved father, compassionate friend, and respected member of the community, peacefully departed this world on September 7, 2023, at his home in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on February 9, 1948, and lived a remarkable life of love, laughter, and selflessness.
He was raised in Charleston, West Virginia and Pittsburg, PA and moved to Columbus, Ohio. Frederick was a man of strong character, integrity, and unwavering generosity. Known for his warm heart and infectious sense of humor, Frederick was a father figure to those who didn’t have one and a source of inspiration to many. His ability to uplift others through laughter earned him the title of a comedian in his own right, as he always found joy in making people smile.
Frederick’s dedication to helping others knew no bounds. He would go above and beyond for those in need, gladly giving the shirt off his back to support a friend or stranger. His compassion extended to his community, where he tirelessly donated to the church and various charities, even if he didn’t attend religious services himself. Frederick’s commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others will forever be remembered and cherished.
A hardworking individual, Frederick spent many years honing his craft as a cement finisher in the construction industry. Through his dedication and expertise, he contributed to countless projects, leaving behind a legacy of his labor throughout the city.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Easley Sr and Alberta Love Easley; daughter, Nicolette Jones; brothers, Roy Easley Jr., Herbert Easley, Eugene Easley, Billy Easley, James Easley, Mason Easley, and Dewey Easley and sisters, Odessa Watkins, Maxine Dean and Carolyn Bowers.
Frederick leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his companion Marie Jones; children, Tina (John) Jones-Donaldson, Derrick Lipsey, Alexis Mennifield, Leon Mennifield, Jonathan Hairston, Janelle Hairston, Freddy Jones, and daughter Phillina (Phillip) Poindexter; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. He also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and captivating spirit.
Funeral Service September 15, 2023, there will be a visitation starting at 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm. Burial at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
