Mr. Jimmie McElroy Sr., age 91. Sunrise, June 5, 1932 and Sunset, December 5, 2023.
Jimmie McElroy was born in the state of Georgia where his life began as a Carpenter. Jimmie was an amazing man with
his hands. He ran a multitude of projects when he worked for Sam Martin. Jimmie took pride in everything he did.
After he perfected his craft in Georgia, he continued his work in the state of Ohio. Jimmie was so proud of his accomplishments; he started his own realty company along with a glass shop. He was a man with integrity, character, and honor. So many people loved his wisdom and his willingness to help others. Jimmie’s most prideful moments were his children and grandchildren. His face would light up so bright when he would share family stories with others. The family enjoyed 91 years with an awesome man.
Jimmie McElroy had 13 children. Preceding him in death, was his wife, Gwen McElroy; father, H.; mother, Nancy McElroy; brothers, Walter, Joe, Bob, Charles, Lovet, and Howard McElroy; sisters, Annkate, and Ida McElroy; sons, William and
Lamont Suber.
Jimmie is survived by his sons, Jimmie (Gladis) McElroy, Lovett (Rose Mary) McElroy, Tony McElroy, Billy Wayne (Elaine), Jobbie (Melita) McElroy, Ricky (Teresa) McElroy, Donnie McElroy, and Lonnie Suber; daughters, Phyllis McElroy, Gwen Suber, and Toy Rhodes. Jimmie has a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren from GA, OH, FL, and CO. Also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
We would like to mention a special thanks to his wonderful friends, Slim Johnson and Eric Pierce. He really enjoyed every moment of his life with your presence. A very special thanks to Raegan Dowdell who was his Home Health Aide but more like a daughter. You were able to get him motivate in ways that enhance his life. We love you all from the McElroys and Subers!
