Mr. Kenneth Eric Harshaw

Kenneth Eric Harshaw, affectionately referred to as “Hawk” was born to Gene and Gaynette Harshaw Sr. on July 6, 1953.

He was 9th of 11 children. After a courageous battle with kidney and heart disease, Hawk was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023 with his wife Tonya by his side.

Hawk was a Columbus Public Schools graduate that went immediately into the work field at Buckeye Steel Casting Company where he retired after 30 years of service. His hard work didn’t stop there. He committed another eight years of service to Graham Ford.

In his spare time, Hawk loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid singer and dancer, and even started his own band. His wife jokes that he thought he was a member of the Temptations. He also enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. He was also a follower of Christ and served in the church for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Gene and Gaynette Harshaw Sr., brothers; Keith Harshaw, Wayne Harshaw, Gene Harshaw Jr., sisters; Kayreita Gittens, Rosalee Burbridge, and his daughter Gaynette Harshaw.

He is survived by his wife; Tonya Harshaw. children; Christine (Kevin) Gordon, Angela Harshaw, Ronica Malone, Dennis Malone, Ronrico (Leah) Malone, and Gilbert Pack Jr., sisters; Toni Lewis, Brenda Holland, Ollie Clark, Phynon Harshaw, Michelle Malone, Serrina Malone, Dilisa (Peter) Ferguson, Shanda Hayes, Sherell White, brothers; Tyrone Mitchell, Rashayn Hayes, mother-in-law; Beverly Jennings, father-in law; Henry Malone, grandmothers; Hattie Louise Harshaw and Lois White a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind special friends, Tobias Byrd, Carl Thomas, Mike McGee and Ray Mitchell

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Monday, March 27, 2023 at Union Tabernacle of God, 1345 Atcheson Street. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J.
