We celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Michael Shawn Murphy Sr., who passed away on March 13, 2024. Born on May 26, 1983, in Chicago, IL, Michael was a dedicated father, son, brother, and friend. Despite his unexpected passing, we gather to honor his memory and the profound impact he had on all who knew him.
Michael was a proud member of the Mansfield community, where he worked as a cook/chef for different establishments. His love for his family was undeniable, as he leaves behind a cherished legacy in his children Daigeana, Michael Jr., Aydin, X’Zaria, X’Zavion, and Anna, and his grandchildren Brayla, Mylah, Kali, and Michael III. Michael is also survived by his mothers Marie Murphy and Ruth Helen Crawford and, father Pastor David (Jeannette) Howell, siblings Viritha Murphy, Demetria Ward, Quentin Harris, Schiolynn Jones, Bobby Davis Jr, Byron (Audrey) Houston, Jasmine Moore, Jacquoia Ginn, Quinness (Whitney) Howell, Demetrius Howell, and Cedria Howell; his first love of 25 years Sarah Conn, a special cousin/sister Faith Crawford and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Bobby Davis Sr, Brothers Shawn Crawford, Bohannon Houston and sister Marie “Pooh” Murphy.
A lover of basketball, Michael was a true Cleveland Cavaliers fan, with a special admiration for LeBron James. His passions extended to cooking and snowboarding, reflecting his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
The funeral services will be a reflection of Michael’s vibrant personality and unwavering spirit. Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Friday March 22, 2024 at the Powerhouse Worship Center 47 Delaware St., Lexington, Ohio 44904.
Though Michael’s physical presence may no longer be with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
