Mr. Stircle Lee Patterson

Stircle Lee Patterson, age 74, was born on May 1, 1949, in Richmond, Indiana to parents Stircle M. and Maxine Harris Patterson. Stircle passed away peacefully in his residence in Canal Winchester, OH, on June 8, 2023.

His parents moved to Columbus, Ohio when he was a toddler. Stircle spent the greater part of his life in Columbus. He graduated from South High School and attended Ohio University, majoring in Psychology, with a minor in Social Work. Stircle enjoyed his position as a Social Worker with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. He was with ODJFS for 26 years.

Stircle was a huge music fan! A number ONE FAN of Diana Ross, Cher, and Prince, just to name a few. Along with the MOTOWN SOUND of the 60’s and early 70’s, he was a fanatic for the R&B groove. He loved cars, especially Cadillac models ( his specialty). Always loved to hang out with great friends at the Thurman Cafe, in German Village. That place was poppin’. His best friends fondly referred to him as “Stu” and sometimes
“Doc”.

Often amused and delighted, he enjoyed his nephew, Trevor Henderson. They would discuss, in detail, the movies and directors of said movies they enjoyed together. Stircle always got a kick out of “pestering” his baby sister, Faith. Stircle had a kind and loving heart.

His father, Stircle Maurice Patterson, preceded him in death. Stircle is survived by his loving mother, Maxine Patterson Reeves, two sisters, Denise Montgomery, Faith Henderson, and his nephew, Trevor Henderson, all in the Columbus area. Family cousins and close friends, far and wide, were all special to him.
