Mr. Toby Germaine Person

Toby Germaine Person, a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly January 24, at age 47.

Toby was born February 20, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio to Gloria Sams and Robert Person Sr. He spent his adolescent years putting a smile on his siblings face and being the light in every room. He was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being The Ohio State Buckeyes, Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, listening to music, playing cards games (Spades) with his family. He could be often heard debating the local City League Basketball and Football talent, often comparing them to the teams and players of the 90’s era. He attended Northland High School, where he found his love for mathematics and forged lifetime friendships with many of his classmates.

Toby will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jaylin Micheal Carter and Elijah Germaine Person; mother, Gloria Sams; brother, Robert (Tania) Person Jr.; sisters, Deneisha Sams and Dierdre (George) Ogbebor; aunt, Barbara Fells; nieces, LaKeisha Williams, Diamond Person, Omoruyi Ogbebor, Aniyah Ogbebor, Twilah Person; nephews, Brandon Person, Duane Williams and RJ Person and a host of cousins, great nieces, nephews, and friends.

Toby is preceded in his death by his father, Robert Person Sr.; step mother, Gloria Person; aunts, Irene Madison, Mary Warner; uncles, Jack Person, Bufford Warner and June Madison.

Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Union Cemetery Association.
