Amelia Nicole Davis was born to the proud parents of Juandell Davis and Eddie Carrington on May 11, 1978, in Columbus, Ohio. She departed this life on December 14, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Amelia, affectionately known as ‘Moochie’, attended Columbus Public Schools where she graduated from Mifflin High School in 1996. She worked several jobs but was primarily a dedicated and devoted mother to her daughter, Essence, and son, Ethan. She was a proud and loving grandmother, or ‘GiGi’, to Nasir.
Ameila had an infectious laugh and was always the life of the party. She was never shy about getting out on the dance floor. She could either give you sound advice or talk plenty of trash. Five minutes with Amelia could last you a lifetime. Her self-determination and independence were traits that we all could learn from. Amelia absolutely loved to read and was very well known at the library. Not only her loved ones, but her neighbors and friends were also blessed with her kindness.
Amelia is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Thelma Davis and Christine Carrington; grandfather, William Carrington, Jr.; aunts, Yvonne Davis, Sylvia Turner and Iris Thomas; uncle, Ricky Carrington; niece, Aniya Davis; and cousins, Cory Alexander, James “Jay” Hill, Jennifer Hill, Joey Davis, Jr. and Marcus Hall.
Those left to cherish her sweet memory, mother, Juandell Davis; father, Eddie (Terry) Carrington; daughter, Essence Davis; son, Ethan Davis; grandson, Nasir Turner; brothers, Adrian (Shauna) Davis, John (Antonique) Cox, Jr., Charles Smith and Christoper Carrington; sisters, Krist Hampton, Jada Cox and Tommie Hall; uncles, Jerome Davis, Blaine Turner, Larry Carrington, Dennis (Sylvia) Carrington; aunts, Sandra Murphy, Benita Davis, Kim Davis, Tracey Davis, Denise Carrington, Laura (Pastor David) Tanyhill, Jr., Joyce (Howard) Williams, Charlene Floyd and Deidra Allison. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Amelia will be deeply missed. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her loss.
Ms. Amelia Nicole Davis, age 45. Sunrise May 11, 1978 and Sunset December 14, 2023.
