Margaret Ann Sims, fondly known as Mitze, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, at Mt. Carmel St. Anns Hospital in Westerville, OH. She was born on September 17, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, to Margaret and Robert Sims Sr. Mitze’s legacy will be remembered with great love and cherished forever.

Mitze’s journey of life was marked by remarkable accomplishments and profound moments of joy. She dedicated an incredible 50 years of her professional career to UPMC, where she retired as a respected and admired member of the Risk Management team in 2019. Her exceptional commitment and dedication to her work in the medical center industry will be deeply missed by her colleagues and friends.

Mitze’s thirst for knowledge led her to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the esteemed University of Pittsburgh. Prior to her journey in Risk Management, she worked passionately as a Licensed Practical Nurse, making a positive impact on countless patients’ lives.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mitze was a woman of adventure. She had an insatiable wanderlust, exploring the world through 35 breathtaking cruises. She found solace and beauty in the autumn season, often traveling to rustic scenic towns to enjoy marvelous dinners amidst picturesque landscapes. Mitze’s heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys, a team she loyally supported, even though most of her family were fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.

Mitze’s love knew no bounds, and she remained the cherished conduit of the Brown, Sims, Payne, Butler, Hines, Hart, Thornhill, and Hunt families. Her vivacious spirit, warmth, and generosity will be dearly missed by her siblings, Amelia (Allen) Brown, Roger A. (Tomesina) Sims, Gary B. (Lena) Sims, Charles K. (Roni) Sims, Gilbert L. Sims, Donna R. (Roy) Hunt, special nephew, Anson J. Brown and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
