Nadie Steward

Nadie, a devoted wife, and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a lady of Strong Faith and Perseverance.

She was born in Warrenton, Georgia on January 8, 1937

Nadie was baptized at an early age, after accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior.

She departed this life September 17, 2017 at the Laurels of Hilliard.

Nadie was employed by Forrest Part Inn until her retirement.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to her loving and devoted husband, John Steward until his death. From his union they were blessed with four children.

At this time, sister Nadie Steward was the longest serving member of the Saint Luke Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member of the senior choir and the board of trustees.

She also assisted in many special events held at and by the church.

Even though sister Steward has finished her journey here on earth, she will be missed by family, friends, church members, neighbors, and all who lives she touched.

Nadie is preceded in death by husband John Steward, parents Jack and Maggie Burns, daughter Bernice Steward, brothers Charles, Lenton, Cymanie, and Eddie, sisters Evelyn, Anna Mae, Rosie Mae, Ora Mae, and Anna Virginia, granddaughter Tina Carter, and one nephew.

She leaves to rejoice in her memory with her daughters Nadine Carter-Martin, and Alberta Miller, son Melvin Steward, and also her grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, church family and friends.

Nadie had a long and blessed life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and fishing. She will truly be missed by those who had a privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Monday September 25, 2017 at St. Luke Baptist Church 1660 E. Main St.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
