Naomi Scipio

Naomi Scipio was born in Lowell, OH on August 22, 1931 to Walter and Volorus Chandler. She graduated from Lowell High School and continued her education at the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Zanesville, OH. She married John C. Scipio on June 28, 1953.

Naomi started taking care of her family members at a young age. Her life was dedicated to the care and needs of others. She became the matriarch of the family after the passing of her mother.

Mother Scipio was a faithful member at Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. She held the position of Church Secretary and Sunday School Treasurer. The last position she held was that of the Church Mother. She inspired and encouraged all persons who crossed her path.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Volorus Chandler; husband, John C. Scipio; daughters, Janice L. Padgett and Joyce E. Scipio; and brothers, Pete, Dave, and Gary Chandler.

December 19, 2016, when she went to be with the Lord, she left to cherish her memory, daughter, Sonja Chandler; brother, Gayland Chandler; sisters, Yvonne Campbell, Loretta Franklin, Jeanie Mayle, and Vicky Chandler; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; special friend and sister in Christ, Mother Velma Rogers, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 6:00pm and Funeral 7:00pm Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Faith Tabernacle COGIC 1783 E. 23rd Ave. Interment 1:00pm Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, OH.
