Nathaniel Camper

January 18, 2002 — November 5, 2024

Nathaniel Clarence James Camper (22), affectionally known as “Nate” was born on January 18, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Nate attended Columbus Public Schools and played football for several years. Although he had a quiet demeanor, he was very protective and loved spending time with his daughters and his family. He had a beautiful smile that would light up a room and his unique sense of humor kept everyone around him laughing. He was nicknamed “the good one” by his Papa James Walter because, compared to his brothers, he caused the least trouble when they were growing up. He had a curious mind and loved to debate about politics, religion, healthy living and the afterlife. He had the biggest heart and the best smile and will be truly missed by everyone who loved him.

He was preceded in death by infant sister, Olivia Camper, grandmother Candice Patrick, grandmother Carol Smiley and grandfather Nathaniel Camper. Nate left many family members and friends to cherish his memory, including his parents Olivia Smith Patrick, William (Brittany) Camper, Sr., Trayvon Williams and Raymond Hatcher, Sr., girlfriend, Savanna Heise, daughters Kylee and Serenity Camper and a baby girl (due in May 2025), brothers Jordan (Siobhán) Camper, William (Candice) Camper, Jr., Javelle Camper, Raymond Hatcher, Jr., Kyrique (Fortashia) Camper, Tyauan Jackson and Kameron Helton, sisters Kaydence Helton, Jamyia Gandy, Myia Jackson, Jada Sauders, Kylar Helton and Ar’Rayonna Hatcher, grandparents George and Jan Smith, James Walter Patrick, Henry Beaty and April Williams, uncles Michael Smith, Dale Smith, Mark Patrick, Alexander Patrick, Samuel (Ana) Ripey and Josh Edwards, aunts Janie Reese, Pamela Smith, Debbie Rivera, Candice (Chris) Patrick and Stefanie (Ricky) Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
