Nikesa Phoenix

Nikesa “Nikki” Phoenix was born June 28, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio and unexpectedly passed away on June 8, 2020.

Nikesa graduated from Whetstone High School and went on to work for Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, State of Ohio Bureau of Workman’s Compensation for sixteen years, and most recently Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. She performed as an outstanding employee and was loved by many though all phases of her life.

Nikki was a very loving person, always ready to help others in need like opening her home to the homeless and watching the neighborhood children. Nikki was just that way. She would help even if she did not have much to give. Her smile would light up the room. She loved being outdoors, traveling, and cooking. She was an avid foodie. Her daughter, Andrea “Tay”, was her most prized gift. She also loved spending time with her niece, Nathalia, who she lovingly called “toots and King David “KD. Nikki loved family and thought it was especially important to stay in tough, help, and support.

Nikki was baptized in Jesus’ name, and filled with the Holy Spirit at an early age. She was a member of New Life Apostolic Church.

Nikki is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wilton and Elizabeth White; maternal grandparents, Walter and Myrine Callahan; and grandfather, Nathaniel Robinson, who affectionately called her “Sugar Bear”.
