On June 17, 1970 Obany entered this life here in Columbus, Ohio. On Friday, August 16, 2024 God chose to pluck another flower from His garden and Obany went home to be with Him. Obany was affectionately known to many as simply “Ob.”
Obany received the Lord and was baptized, at a young age, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where he also attended Sunday School.
He was a 1989 graduated from Independence High School, Columbus where he played on the varsity football and basketball teams and received All State Honors in both sports. After high school, Obany went on to attend the College of DuPage in Illinois where he also played basketball. He graduated with an Associate Degree in General Studies from the College of DuPage. He then decided to continue his studies and attended Wright State University.
Obany was employed several years for the Department of Youth Services (DYS) where he worked in corrections. He also worked at Damon Restaurant as an Assistant Manager. He was currently employed as an Associate at Amazon.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wade; grandparents, Johnson and Alberta Wade; grandmother, Dorothy Palmer; aunts and uncles, Janet (Don) Hall and Jewell (Theodore) Shelborne, Clearance Obany Hendrick aka “Peewee,” Charles Lewis and John D. Moore, Sr.; cousins, John D. Moore Jr., and Brandi Holly.
Left to celebrate his life and memory is his Mother, Marsha Wade; brothers Terry (Trina) Wade, Mychal (Sarah) Wade; aunts and uncles, Francine Moore, Calvin (Patty) Wade, Wanetta (Pastor Wayne T., Jr.) Lee, Debra (Bishop Stanley) Wood and Judy Wade; nephews and nieces, Bryan Wade, Brooke (Marcellas) Bolton, Brianna Wade (Tyjuan Norman) and Maya Johnson; several great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
