Ollie Ethel Greenway

Ollie Ethel Amos Greenway was born November 30, 1958, to parents Walter and Ethel Amos in Columbus, Ohio. On Saturday, she departed this life, after a courageous battle with progressive health issues on October 21, 2023, at her home.

On November 11, 2000, she was united in marriage to the love of her life John W. Greenway, Sr. and they spent many wonderful years raising their five children and one grandchild in Columbus, Ohio.

Ollie was introduced to Jesus Christ as an adolescent and received the gift of the Holy Spirit as a teenager. The foundation of her Christian experience was established growing up in the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Columbus, Ohio.

Ollie graduated from Mifflin High School, Columbus, Ohio with the class of 1976. She later attended Indiana Wesleyan University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was most recently employed with Trinity Health (Mount Carmel Health) as a Register Nurse (RN) for eight years. Prior to Mount Carmel Health, she worked with the Columbus City Health Department as a Public Health Nurse for over 18 years. She was dedicated to serving in the medical profession.

She loved her children and grandchildren; also, she loved traveling, singing, celebrating holidays, decorating her home and cherished any opportunity to cook in her kitchen. Those who were closest to her, knew and experienced her signature smile as well as gift of love, compassion, and valuable life lessons that she often shared with others.

Ollie was preceded in death by her parents (Walter and Ethel Amos); her four brothers: William Felton Evans, John Evans, Alonza Amos, and one sister, Barbara Amos. She is cherished and loved by so many. Those who wished she could have remained include her children: Manuel Fraizer, Atira Frazier, Cameron Frazier; stepchildren: John Greenway, Jr., Deidra Avery (Ronald); Hayden Greenway, adopted grandchild; sisters: Juanita Walker and Debora Branham (Melvin); brother, Walter Amos, Jr. (Karen); sisters-in-law: Sheridan Amos (Alonza); Dora Evans (William Felton Evans); Henrietta (John Evans); and a host of other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
