Otis David Hollman Sr.

Otis David Hollman Sr., was born on July 6, 1938 in Thomaston, Georgia to George and Bessie Hollman. Thursday, December 2, 2021; he departed this life at OSU East Hospital at the age of 83.

Otis attended Drake High School in Thomaston, Georgia where he was born and raised. In 1957 he left Georgia and made Columbus, Ohio his home. Soon after he married Joanne Riley, they had six children together, Alvin M. Hollman, Melvin David Hollman, Otis David Hollman Jr, Venus R. Hollman, Anthony Bernard Hollman, and Christal D. Hollman. He also shares a son with Blanche Washington, Demetrius Hollman. He embraced the title of father to, Kenny Brown, Donta Washington, Heather, Jason, Aaron, Avery (grandfather).

Otis was a hard worker his entire life. Motivated by the love of his children he provided for his family. He worked numerous construction jobs. When he relocated to Columbus shortly after he gained employment at White Castle Corporate office for 40 years working his way up to maintenance engineer supervisor, until his retirement. He ventured out starting his own heating and cooling business providing training and mentoring.

Otis enjoyed nurturing and protecting his family sharing his many skills giving others opportunity for success playing golf, traveling, cooking, enjoying life. He was very compassionate and kind to those he met. He befriended everyone; he met no strangers.

Otis is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Hollman; brother, William Hollman; sisters, Mary Jean and Beverly Jeanelle; sons, Alvin Melvin Hollman. He leaves to cherish special memories, his grandchildren, devoted children and their mothers, long-time companion, Barbarah Richardson and children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He shall be truly and deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
