Overseer Eugene Joseph Paramore Jr.

Eugene Joseph Paramore Jr. was born on September 30th, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the fifth child out of seven born to Mr. Eugene J. Paramore Sr and Mrs. Addie Swain Paramore. Eugene entered his eternal rest on Thursday February 11, 2021. He was educated in the Catholic school system in Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Roman Catholic and John Bartram High school in 1962. Upon graduation he entered the work force as an assistant manager for the Philadelphia Housing Authority. In March of 1976 Eugene married the apple of his eye Linda Hairston. From this union were born two daughters: Latonya Joy Paramore (Jackson) and Sheree Beatrice Paramore.
Eugene was called into the ministry in 1984 and became an ordained minister under the leadership of The Late Bishop Boyce McKinney. He loved the ministry and the word of God and continued working in the ministry to become Pastor of the Mount Sinai Holiness Church of God in 1994. He continued to grow and move into leadership within the Holiness Church of God and was later ordained as an Overseer. He later became the Vice President of the Sunday School Convention of The Holiness Church Of God. As he became a pillar in the community, He later opened the South Side Community Enrichment & Learning Center in the lower level of the church. The community center was the home of various outreach programs including after school tutoring, food pantries, community computer classes and various day camps.
To continue his passion for learning, Eugene went back to school at The Manhattan Bible Institute from 2003-2009 where he obtained numerous certifications in Christian Workers, General Bible 1 & 2, Pastoral Excellence and Advanced Pedagogy as well as serving on the Board Of Directors. Eugene dedicated his life to the ministry and his community until he became sick and was no longer able to be a full-time pastor.
After his kidney transplant surgery in October 2012 he knew there was still a calling on his life. He continued his work in the ministry under the amazing spiritual leadership of the late Bishop George Ware of New Life Church in Pataskala, Ohio. He served under Bishop George Ware as the Assistant Pastor. After Bishop Ware’s death in 2015, he continued to serve under the leadership of Pastor Teresa Ware until he moved to Kernersville North Carolina in 2019. He attended and served at the Kingdom Covenant Church in Greensboro, North Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Myron Dawson until his death.

Eugene would greet you with a huge smile and a hug. He loved his family, being a pop-pop and being Mr. Personality. You could hear his warm loud laugh from anywhere. Eugene would always tell his daughters, grandchildren, nieces & nephews “You can do anything you put your mind too!”. He loved to tell his childhood stories to anyone that would listen especially his grandchildren, nieces & nephews. One of his favorite stories to tell was how him and his siblings beat up the fruit man and stole all the fruit man’s fruit. Since he was from Philly, he knew how a good philly cheesesteak was suppose to taste. He always talked about opening up a real “hoagie shop” in Columbus but settled for just making them at home for his family on Friday Nights. Another passion of his was cooking on the grill, before you could even take a bite he would ask, “Well how is it?” truth be told he knew how it tasted, he just wanted to hear you say how good it was.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Eugene J. Paramore Sr and Mrs. Addie Swain Paramore, sister Trudy Paramore, his brothers Roosevelt Paramore, Ernest Paramore, and Robert Paramore. He leaves to remember his legacy daughters Donna Paramore, Latonya Joy Jackson and “his kidney twinkie” Sheree Beatrice Paramore; grandchildren Egypt Paramore, Cierra Calloway, Azariah Calloway, Mark Joshua Calloway; (unborn)great-granddaughter Mi’Amor Cardwell; siblings Evelyn Ferguson (Calvin), Sylvester Paramore (Cheryl), and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
