Pastor Bennie Mae Johnson, 76, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on November 26, 2023. She was born on November 11, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Bennie Brown and Hattie M. (Copeland) Brown. Pastor Bennie Mae Johnson was a woman of God, known for her devotion to her faith and her love for her family and friends.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. Pastor Bennie Mae Johnson is survived by her sons, Kelven (JanLe) Johnson, Willie (Jeannine) Johnson and Bennie (Sherry) Johnson; her daughters, Angela Johnson, Varita Johnson, Petina Johnson and Paetrina Johnson. Surviving siblings: Ann Kenley, Nesby (Diane) Brown, Shirley J. Brown, Joyce (Robert) Phillips, Robin Jardia, Larry Brown, Linda J. Brown, Paul Brown and Penny L. Brown.

Surviving grandchildren: Symphonee Denise Johnson, Abigail Soteria Johnson, Kelvin Johnson II, Eugene Johnson, Eric Johnson, Bennie Johnson Jr., Dashon Lamont Johnson, Bennae Sharae Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Faith Johnson and Lonnie Johnson. Surviving great grandchildren: Bennie Alfonzo Johnson, Maleah Prosperity Johnson, Faith Serenity Johnson, Knaliege Malik Johnson and Nevaeh Marie Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Brown; her mother, Hattie M. (Copeland) Brown; her husband, Willie Johnson; her daughter, Ruszella Johnson; her sisters, Ruth Dingess and Cathy Brown; her brother, Ronald D. Brown; her nephew, Darrick Brown, her great nephew, Robert M. Cobb & her grandson, Elijah Malachi Johnson.

The Graveside Service for Pastor Bennie Mae Johnson will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 1340 Woodland Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43219. Please consider weather conditions when attending the service. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. LIVINGSTON AVE.
