Regina McCrary, 65, went home to be with the Lord on February 28th, 2025. She was born to Bettie Walker and Lonzo McCrary on October 11th, 1959, in Newton, MS.
Regina graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1978 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army, serving her country honorably for four years. After her military service, she dedicated 20 years of her life as a Nurse’s Assistant, always putting others’ needs before her own and continuing to care for people with compassion.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Regina enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She had a passion for cooking, singing, and laughing, and she cherished her early mornings spent with “The Breakfast Club,” where she dominated the Domino table. Regina lived for the moments spent with her grandchildren, Zari-Anna, Zi-Anna, Zamoni, Zhane, Zavier, and Zerenity, filling her life with joy. To know her was a true blessing — her blonde hair, her rambunctious personality, and a heart of gold. If you were loved by her, you were family, and she would always speak the truth, never a lie. Her laugh, unforgettable and contagious, left an echo in the rooms she graced.
Regina is survived by her mother, Bettie Walker; daughter, Bri-Anna McCrary (Yahya Abdul-Hafeez); sisters Sonya McCrary, Benita Melton, Linda Craddieth, Mary Daniels, Carrie Bledsoe, and Tamika Woods; brothers Karie Walker and Muff Walker; grandchildren Zari-Anna, Zi-Anna, Zamani, Zhane, Zeyvier, and Zerenity; nieces and nephews Andre, Gwendolyn, Pamela, Shawn, Ricardo, Benetia, Keith, Kavon, James, and Yasmaine; as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lonzo McCrary; stepfather, Karie Walker; sisters Diane Walker and Karen Walker; and nephew, Charles Brown.
Regina’s spirit will forever be cherished and missed by all who knew and loved her.
