Renee’ Arleen Braxton was born July 31st, 1951 in Columbus, OH to the union of David Braxton and Grace Lear. She attended East High School where she joined the cheerleading squad. She later attended Central High School where she later graduated. Renee continued her education at The Ohio State University.
Renee’ was a loving and caring mother who worked 3 jobs to put her son and daughter through school. She loved to travel so much that she became a truck driver for Covenant Logistics. Renee’ drove all over God’s green earth which took away for weeks at a time, but she loved sightseeing and exploring the countryside. Renee left the trucking industry after her grandson Thomas was born. She became Thomas’ caregiver and retired from the healthcare profession from P.E Miller Healthcare; all her patients loved her and Renee’ loved them too.
Renee’ was an amazing woman. She loved life and everything it had to offer. Renee’ enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, going on trips especially cruises, talking on the phone, shopping, cooking, listening to music, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Renee’ also had a passion for fashion! She would step out of the house looking like a movie star all dolled up with her fine jewelry and fabulous furs. And did you know Renee’ was a race car driver? Oh yes, it’s true! She even went on to win her very first race. On Friday, December 6, 2024, Renee’ spirit peacefully slipped away from her earthly residence into the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Renee’ is proceeded in death by her father David Braxton and mother Grace Lear. Son K’yon Braxton. Brothers Victor Braxton, Barry Harris, and Shawn Braxton. Grandson De’Monte Rayford.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her loving daughter Angelique Braxton (Anthony Bell) and son Micheal Deese both reside in Columbus, OH. Brothers David Allen Harris, and Kevin Q. Braxton and sisters Darla S. Braxton and Mary E. Goins. Grandchildren Thomas M. Tandanpolie, Tre’Monte Rayford, Mikayla Deese, MyKell Deese, Brianna Featherstone. Goddaughter Muna Jessie-Baldeh and Special friend Shelia Breckenridge. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Renee will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We will miss her laugh, her sassiness, her ch missed by her farming wit, and great advice, but most of all, her beautiful smile. We ask that you continue to keep the Braxton family, especially her daughter Angelique Braxton, in your thoughts and prayers.
