In Loving Memory of Reva Mae Dixon

Reva Mae Dixon, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 24, 2023, at The OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born on July 5, 1931, in Springfield, Reva was a cherished member of her community and leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Reva was the daughter of Roosevelt and Louise Cockran and grew up alongside her brother Elton Cockran. She was a proud graduate of Springfield South High School, where she cultivated the knowledge and wisdom that would shape her throughout her life. Reva’s worked as a dedicated housekeeper for Olan Mills. Her commitment and passion for her work left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the countless families who passed through the doors of the photo studio.

When she wasn’t working, Reva found solace in her hobbies. A lover of literature, she could often be found with her nose buried in a book, indulging in stories that transported her to other worlds. Additionally, she possessed a green thumb that flourished as beautifully as the flowers she tended to in her garden. The simplicity and beauty of nature always brought her joy and peace.

She was a member of Fair Street Christian Church in Springfield.

Family was the cornerstone of Reva’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She was survived by her son William Dixon, granddaughter Danna Curtis, grandson William (Renee) Castleberry, great-grandson William McClain, granddaughters Genesis Castleberry, and great-granddaughter Willow Castleberry. Their love, laughter, and memories will forever hold a special place in her heart.
