In Loving Memory of Richard Rodell Cochran

October 11, 1962 - March 16, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Richard Rodell Cochran, who left this world on March 16, 2025, at the age of 62. Richard was a man of strength, kindness, and endless talent-a loving father, a caring brother, and a true friend to many.

Born on October 11, 1962, Richard was the beloved son of Sandra Blackmon and Richard Cochran, and he was also loved dearly by his stepmother, Ellen Cochran. He shared a deep bond with his siblings: Tonya Harding, Carla Banks, Leon Boyd, Chris Cochran, Gay Hamilton, Viola Cunningham, and Frank Cunningham, as well as his stepsiblings, Michael Boykins and Amber Boykins.

As a child, his family lovingly called him "Ricky," and as he grew older, everyone knew him as "Rick."

Richard was a loving father to his children: Richard Cochran Jr. (wife Rebekah Cochran), Rochelle Cochran, Rickisha Bailey (husband Kendall Bailey), Lamara Cochran, Ty'eisha Moore, Jade Cochran, Rico Cochran, and Tiana Cochran. His legacy lives on in his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and the countless friends who loved him.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, dedicating his time and service to his country. After his military service, Richard pursued higher education and earned his associate's degree. He then attended dental school, where he specialized in making dentures, helping countless people regain their smiles.

Richard had a mind as sharp as a whip-he was incredibly intelligent and never forgot anything. It amazed everyone how he remembered people's names, no matter how long it had been since he last saw them. His ability to recall details, solve problems, and think critically made him stand out in everything he did.

Richard had a heart of gold and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was a natural handyman-whether it was landscaping, painting, fixing faucets, or home repairs, there was nothing he couldn't do. His passion for truck driving took him on many roads, but his true creativity shined through his songwriting and poetry. Richard also wrote a book of poems, expressing his thoughts and emotions through his words.

In addition to his many skills, Richard had an incredible eye for fashion and creativity. He loved reinventing existing clothing and repurposing materials into new, unique styles, always finding a way to make something fresh and fashionable.

Richard always took pride in the way he looked and dressed. He was a good-looking man! His confidence and sense of style reflected his vibrant personality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

To know Richard was to love him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever remain in our hearts.
