Richard Sinclair Taylor Jr.

Richard Sinclair Taylor Jr., age 27 was born on June 25, 1995, in Columbus, Ohio to Maria Shaw and Richard Sinclair Taylor, Sr. He was the eldest of six children.

Richard gave his life to Christ at a very young age. He was extremely sensitive to the spirit of God. When he was four years old, he would cry during the alter call and got baptized at the age of five and many additional times.

Richard was a proud Marine, serving four years until his honorable discharge with the rank of Lance Corporal (LCpl). On his discharge, Richard chose to pursue a new mission where he became a youth mentor and worked in the community. Richard worked at the Franklin County
Juvenile Detention Center where he tried to share a better way with the youth.
Richard was the example of how to deal with tough people and situations and maintain calmness and professionalism.

One of Richard’s goals was to become a police officer and help bridge the divide between the police and the community. Richard was caring, providing emotional support, freely giving and sharing
unselfishly with others.

Richard always had a big smile on his face. He was pleasant and easy to like. He loved to joke and was very funny and comical. Richard was most known for his big heart and really giving his all to his little sisters. On Monday,
July 25th, Richard passed away unexpectedly gaining his eternal wings. Richard was more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who loved him. Richard was the oldest of six children being the only child for 12 years. He was clearly a good big brother taking his younger sisters to the mall and various places spending too much money.

Richard was preceded in death by his stepfather; Elder Dwayne Lopes, grandmother; Marie Shaw, grandfather; Donnell Shaw, uncle; William Shaw, aunts; Annie Shaw, Debra Shaw, Trina Shaw-Richardson, and Ruthy Taylor.

Richard is survived by his mother; Maria Lopes, father; Richard Sinclair Taylor Sr., siblings; Dwayne Lopes, Jr., Thomas Taylor, Jayden Morris, Diana Lopes, Brittoria Mathis-Lopes, Marayah Gray-Lopes, Alexis Scott-Lopes, Rachel Jones-Taylor, grandmothers; Carol Shaw and Clair Taylor, bonus mom and dad; Mr. & Mrs. Varela, niece; Amani Rose, special cousins/brothers; David Cooper, Jr. and Jonathan Cooper, a host of aunts, uncles, friends, and the United States Marine Corps, OOHRAH!!!
