Robert Allen Pritchett

Robert A. Pritchett, 72, of Columbus Ohio, entered into his eternal rest on August 20, 2022. He was the eldest son of six children born to the union of Robert L. and Katherine C. Pritchett.  Robert was blessed to grow up in a loving Christian home.

Robert graduated from West High School in their college prep program in 1968.  Immediately after graduating from school, he joined the air force and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He graduated from the Air Force Technical School where he studied electro-mechanical repair.   With this knowledge he worked as an electro-mechanical technician specializing in teletype repair.

While Robert was stationed in Texas, he met his wife, Ida, who was attending Texas Woman’s University.  They married in 1971 and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where Robert was stationed.

After completing his military service, Robert moved back to Columbus, Ohio where he worked at Ohio State University as a typewriter repairman.  He worked full time; and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science and journalism. When he graduated from OSU, he was employed by the State of Ohio as a computer programmer.  He also did freelance writing and wrote several articles and pamphlets.

Robert was a member of Rhema Christian Center for many years.  He loved the teaching that he received from his Pastor LaFayette Scales.   Robert ’s ministry gift was a teacher.  When he retired from the State of Ohio with 33 years of service, he fulfilled his dream and opened a store called Pleasures of Treasures Revisited. He focused on the true treasures.  People loved to come by and visit with him. He ministered to their spiritual needs as well as their physical needs.  Many were saved.

Robert touched the lives of countless people through the strength of his spirit, wisdom, and faith in God.  He enjoyed the word of God, his family, playing chess, watching football, bicycling, and discussing current events.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his wife, Ida, of 51 years, 2 sons, Robert (Tiffany) and Christopher Shawn.  Three grandchildren, Jasmyne, Noah, and Ramyaa and one great grandchild, Zion. Four sisters, Karen Davis, Judy Mundy (Chester) Marlene Northern and Amber Craig (Jimmy) and one brother, David Pritchett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Robert left a legacy for his family and those who knew and loved him.  So, today we say farewell; yet, we need not fret, for as much as our hearts do yearn for one more glimpse of his smiling face, we know it is now filled with God’s amazing grace.

Visitation 10:30 AM and Memorial Service 11:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Rhema Christian Center 2100 Agler Road 43224.
