Robert J. Henry, 75, passed away on March 15, 2018. Robert was born on February 11, 1943 in Jewett, TX to Jo-Betty and G.B. Anderson. Robert accepted Christ at and early age and was a member of Greater Emanuel Baptist Church in Dallas, TX and is now a member of Wesley Church of Hope U.M. Church. Robert attended public schools excelled in math and played football. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 8 Years. He went to Flight School and became a Load Master and traveled around the world. He spent 18 months in Vietnam and received the Air Medal Award for meritorious achievement during military flights among several other awards. Upon his Honorable discharge from the Air Force he remained in Columbus, OH and was employed at the United States Postal Service and worked his way up to supervisor and retired with 32 years of service. Robert is a member of Ohio American Legion Post 465 and a Life Member of the V.F.W Post 3764 Columbus, OH.

Robert was an excellent bowler and received a ring for a 300 game. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed attending church when able and spending time with friends and family camping, boating, playing cards, and dominoes. He met and married the love of his life, Renee’ Chase-Henry in November of 1991.

Robert is preceded in death by parents, Jo-Betty and G.B. Anderson; son, Kelly Henry; in-laws, Robert and Louise Chase; and sister-in law, Bonita Chase-Wallace.

Robert is survived by wife, Renee’ Chase- Henry; daughters, Ericka (Calvin) Giles and Robinette (CaVelle) Henry; son, Todd Henry; grandchildren, Italia, Todd, Jaquan, Kylie, Devonte, Savon, Todd Jr., Eric, Raymon, Aliyah, Robert ,CaVell Jr., and Markiel; aunt and uncle, Philip and Barbara Chase, cousins, Larry (Diane) Tatum, Howard (Shirley) Anderson; good friends, James “Bro-Law” Brothers and Al Hamilton; nieces, Shelly and Veronica Flemister and Kimberly Adams; nephews, Kevin Flemister and Jason Adams;many great nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws, Lawrence Wallace and Michael Chase; and a host of cousins and friends, including Wesley U.M. Church of Hope Family and Lockbourne Dialysis Center.

Robert was a good kind respectful man, a good father and grandfather, and a loving and devoted husband, and a friend to all. He will be missed but NEVER FORGOTTEN.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Wesley Church of Hope United Methodist Church, 2935 Bulen Ave.

Interment with Military Honors at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
