Rolena James

Rolena James also known as “RO” was born March 3rd, 1948 to Lula Mae Summerville and Roland James in Columbus, Ohio. Rolena accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior on October 9th, 2020. On Friday evening November 27th, 2020 surrounded by family, she went peacefully to receive her angel wings at the age of 72.

Rolena graduated from cosmetology school, though many may not remember her mastering hair. She would not hesitate to remind you that she mastered the book, part of it. She knew every nerve and bone by name connected to the head. Everybody that knew Ro can agree that she was the life of the party, guaranteed to dance and certain to make you laugh!

Rolena is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bertha Summerville, Lenora Parks, Lenetta Summerville, Constance James; grandson, Lil Michael D. Jr.; great nephews, Carlos Jacobs and Temarr Wallace.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Kasha, Robert and Quanetta James; brothers, Fabian (Mikalen) Summerville, Roland James Jr and Tyrone James; sisters, Karen Summerville, Laverne James, Carla James and Toni Lewis; grandkids, Kayneicha James, Darnell Gwinn, Asia Hargrove, Michael Johnson, Kaydrianna James and Kayveon James; great-grandbabies, Milyah, Taleah, A’nyila, Malakhi and Imani. Rolena leaves behind a host of so many special nieces and nephews whom she built individual bonds with to cherish her memory.

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 2:00 PM Monday, December 7, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Masks and Social Distancing are required.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
