Roy Arlan Woodson-Levey Jr.

Roy Arlan Woodson-Levey Jr., was born May 19, 1944 in Evanston, Illinois to Roy and Elaine Williams Woodson-Levey. In 1963, he received his high school diploma from Chicago’s Englewood High School. Upon graduation from Englewood, he enrolled in Chicago Vocational Trade School. Roy successfully completed the program and received a collision repair technician certification. Roy relocated to Columbus, Ohio with his family to be with his Mother in 1967. It is in Columbus, Ohio where Roy served the community for over 35 years as an automobile body repair and mechanic.

Roy was known for his love of fishing, swimming, gardening, taking pictures and cooking.  He was an avid sports fan, who would often cheer for the Chicago Bears, Northwestern Wildcats and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He would invite friends and family over to his home to cookout and watch sporting events. He will always be remembered for his friendly nature and sociable personality.

On August 5, 2021 Roy was called home, surrounded by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by; parents, Roy Woodson-Levey Sr., and Elaine Williams Woodson-Levey; father, Atlas Bridges;  son, Roy Woodson-Levey III; sister, Yvette Woodson-Levey and brother, Michel Woodson-Levey Sr.

He is survived by: wife, Victoria Woodson-Levey; sister, Bette Bridges Braxton; sister-in-law, Olivia Woodson-Levey; children, Angela (John) Harris, Candace, Mischell and Naomi Woodson-Levey; step-children, Susan Levey, Senita and Shawntaj Francis; grandchildren, Roy IV, Brandon, Cheris, Gideon, Quentin, Tyler and Troy Woodson-Levey, Aysha Harris, Rachel(Devareaux) Manley and John Harris III, Ryan Levey, Angel Dennis, and Kyla, Kelis and Kamryn Glenn; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Ka’Maila, Regan, Roy and Miles Woodson-Levey and Summer Manley; special friends, Milton Harrison, Eileen Neale, and Hayes Hemphill, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and many friends

PUBLIC VISITATION 1:00 PM Private Visitation 2:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 3:00 PM Thursday, August 12, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
