Ruby Lee Staples, born on December 4, 1927, in Jackson, Mississippi, earned her heavenly wings on August 4, 2024. A beacon of love and strength, Ruby relocated to Mansfield, Ohio, where she met the love of her life, her husband Ernest "Eckie" Staples.
Mother Ruby Staples, was a devoted member of Mount Herman Baptist Church and later Judah Redeemer COGIC, under the leadership of Pastor Gwendolyn Williams. As a cherished sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother, Ruby was known for her extraordinary cooking, her passion for gardening, and her impeccable sense of style.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories for her beloved children: Reginald Staples, Dallas, TX; Michelle Clemons Columbus, OH; Beth (Phillip) Bowland Arlington, TX, and Carolyn Staples Henderson, Mansfield, OH. Her grandchildren, Brandon (Morgan) Clemons, Shannan (Joel) Todd, Erick Trotter, Brianna (James) Long, Torri Staples, Dreama Henderson, and her great-grandchildren will carry her spirit forward. Ruby is survived by her sister, Deborah Jackson, and her sister-in-law, Genniece Webster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Minnie Webster; her husband, Ernest Staples; and her son, L. Juno Staples.
Ruby Lee Staples was a confident and determined woman who overcame every obstacle in her path. With a captivating singing voice and a beautiful soul, her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Ruby’s guiding motto was, "Always have faith, trust in God, and stand on His word," a testament to the faith that anchored her spirit throughout her life.
