Sean Michael Tucker

MR. SEAN MICHAEL TUCKER, affectionately known as “BIG TUCK” completed his earthly journey on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Mansfield, Ohio, at the age of 47. He was born on April 14, 1976, in Detroit, Michigan. Sean was a born-again believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Cornerstone COGIC in Saginaw, MI where Courtney D. Avery Sr. is Pastor. He was diligent, and faithful in his prayer time and devoted to bible study. He was a blessing to have as a devoted member. He knew whom he served, and who he was in Christ Jesus. One of his favorite scriptures was Psalms 91. Sean was a beacon of light and inspiration to all those who were blessed enough to know him. He brought joy and happiness to every encounter, with an infectious laugh and personality that radiated warmth, love and having an enjoyable time. He was truly a “Gentle Giant” with a loving and kind heart. He loved people, and never met a stranger. He was an example, a source of wisdom, knowledge, inspiration, strength, and encouragement. His passion was spending time with the youth and seniors, especially his Beloved Grandmother, Beulah Mae Hill Turk. He was a Beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, mentor, and friend.

Sean loved his family and friends. Although he did not have any children of his own, he had a personal stake in all that his nieces and nephews were involved in, and he loved them dearly. He was so
proud of all of them. He was looked upon as their “Hero.” There was nothing he would not do for them. Sean was dedicated to his work at Ohio Valley Manufacturing, where he demonstrated his
talents and skills. His strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the company he served. Outside of work, Sean’s number one passion was fishing. He found solace in casting his line and reeling in the peace of the waters and the beauty of nature that God provides. Sean also loved cooking. He was known as “Chef Tuck” when preparing his Fried Fish dinners for the Community. He knew his way around the kitchen and could make a feast out of little of nothing. Through his “Soul Food” culinary creations, he shared his love for food and brought people together with each delicious meal he prepared. Staying physically fit was also important to him. He was a member of the YMCA where he worked out and played basketball and spent countless hours a week mentoring young boys teaching them the game of basketball while living in Warren, Ohio. Education and athletics played a fundamental role in Sean’s life. His thirst for knowledge and
willingness to grow intellectually were commendable traits that inspired all who knew him. Sean’s athletic abilities shone brightly during his time at Mansfield Senior High School. As a player of a Division I high school basketball and AAU travel team, (All-Ohio), he displayed remarkable skills and talents. He was affectionately known to his teammates and fans as “BIG TUCK.” He always managed to bring the crowd to their feet with his Thunderous & Powerful Dunks! He was a humble Basketball Legend. After graduating in 1995, he went on to fulfill his dream to play at the next level. He attended The Ohio State University where he played for The Buckeyes. His dedication and perseverance on the court were an inspiration to his teammates and coaches. He was so excited to be given the opportunity to assist two of his best friends, Jerry Moton, and Leroy Mack in coaching the High School Boys’ Basketball Team at Ontario High School. Left to cherish his Legacy of Love are his mothers; Sarah Feagin-Bradford (Charles) and Carolyn Goss-Ray (Sanders); grandmother; Beulah Mae Hill Turk, sisters; M. Michelle (Courtney) Avery, Angela Ray and Charity Ray; brothers; Cyrus (Anita) Tucker, and Allen Ray and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces; Angelica (Dominic) Chapman, Angelisa Tucker, Jasmine Tucker, Makayla Ray, Destiny Ray, Sarayah Ray, Amiyah Spurlock, nephews; Scottie Robinson, Cyrus A. Tucker Jr. And Macyah A. Tucker, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins, best friends; Jerry Moton, Lee Melton Leroy Mack and Shawn Beard, a special mentor, Pastor Paul Lintern, and a host of loved ones, and great friends. He was preceded in death by his fathers; Lenard Feagin and Robert “Bobby”; Stevenson, brother; Parrish Bernardo Feagin, grandfathers; Arnavea Feagin Sr., and Bo Goss, grandmothers; Electa Feagin, and Roseta (Rook) Goss. Sean’s presence in our lives will be sorely missed, but the memories shared will always be treasured, and his legacy will live through us for a lifetime.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember the love that Sean freely gave, his infectious laughter, and light that shined bright and brought joy and happiness into our lives. He will forever be loved,
cherished, and remembered as a source of inspiration, strength, and encouragement as an embodiment of living life by walking by Faith in God and not by sight alone. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
