With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sequana Janine Mingle-Brown, a vibrant and adventurous spirit whose zest for life was truly infectious. Sequana, affectionately known as Quan or DawgPound, left us on July 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and the cherished memories she created throughout her colorful and creative life. Though the news has profoundly shaken our world, we find solace in celebrating the incredible person she was.
From the beautiful waters of Aruba to the Marjaina fields of Jamaica mom was a devoted Ohio State fan and die-hard Cleveland Browns supporter, Quan brought unparalleled enthusiasm to every game. Her cheers resonated through our ears and touched the hearts of those around her. Her passion extended beyond sports into her creative pursuits, especially her love for crafting unique clothing and bags. Recently, she spent countless joyful hours designing and printing beautiful creations for loved ones, each piece reflecting her artistic flair and loving spirit. In addition to her creative talents, Sequana had a remarkable green thumb. Her love for plants was evident in the many vibrant plants that flourished under her care. and gladly passed down her knowledge to so many.
Sequana was not only a fan of the finer things in life but also a dedicated and loving family member. She is now reunited with her cherished mother Terri Lynn Sanders, beloved husband Mark Brown, dear son Harry Lathon, and many other loved ones who preceded her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy through her five grandchildren—Rickala, Kalieha, MiKyng, MyQween, and LaMayah—who were the light of her life.
Sequana is survived by her three lively children, Hycreasha, Vicneisha, and Victor, and her hardworking father, Gerald Brown and uncle regg. Her memory will also live on through her dear siblings: her beautiful sisters Gerlanda and Athan, and her protective brothers Robert, Ricky Jr., Clarence and Tarail. She leaves behind her outgoing best friends—Michael, Lisa, Star, and her favorite nephew Jason—as well as her cherished niece Niesha. Her extended family includes her cousins Regana, Angie, and Terri, and her second family with her fiancé Donald and his loved ones, her home away from home.
Quan’s life was a testament to her spirit of adventure, creativity, and deep love for those around her. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, her memory will forever inspire us to live with the same exuberance and passion she embodied.
