Sgt Ervin Lamont Vincent

Husband. Father. Son. Friend.

Ervin Lamont Vincent was born on February 2, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio. Lamont, as he was affectionately known by family, was the only child of the late Ervin L. and Joan Vincent. He was educated in the Columbus City School system, graduating from Beechcroft High School in 1992.

After high school, Lamont was employed with AmeriCorps as a Community Liaison. Shortly thereafter he began working as an Assistant Manager at FootAction in Westland Mall, where he would meet his future wife, LaToya.

Lamont enlisted in the United States Army in December 2002, where he served for 14 years as a 91 Bravo 20 Level Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, and his listed duty stations were USAG Schweinfort, Germany, Fort Bliss, TX, and Fort Campbell, KY. During his years of active service, Lamont served three tours of duty in Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar.

In December of 2016, Lamont was honorably discharged from active duty service, and enlisted in the Tennessee National Guard, where he served with ETRP 278th RSS FSC. While in the Guard, Lamont was employed with the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) as a Domicile Driver until 2019.

In 2020, Lamont decided to pursue his dream of entrepreneurship, which he accomplished by establishing City to City Trucking and Hauling, LLC. This pursuit gave Lamont the freedom to be on the road during the day and with his family at night, which he loved. A year later, Lamont found a great opportunity with Phoenix Flatwork Concrete Contractor, LLC., where he worked as a Dump Truck Operator.

Lamont was a devoted husband and father, who loved spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh. He also enjoyed movies, cartoons, Marvel Comics, Star Wars, a good meal and even better desserts! He enjoyed watching sports, and was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Ervin Lamont Vincent was preceded in death by his grandmother, Juanita “Neet” Bell, and father, Ervin Lee Vincent. He is survived by his mother, Joan, his loving wife of 19 years, LaToya, his children Erin Lael, Cameron Lamont, Collin Ervin, and Cairyn Sheree Vincent, and the family pet Buckeye. His memory will also be cherished by his dear aunt Saundra Crook, uncle John “Bo” Vincent (Dottie), and a host of loving cousins and dear friends, including best friends Jay Wilson and Scott Moon.
