Sharon Holloway

December 26, 1965 — October 22, 2024

Sharon Denise Holloway, the third child of Dorothy and the late Jake Stovall, was born on December 26, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio. Sharon was called to Eternal Rest and Reward on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Sharon was educated in the Dayton Public School System and was a proud graduate of the John H. Patterson Cooperative Education High School (1984). While working full-time for many years, Sharon completed both her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Wright State University (1994) and Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University (2004).

Sharon received Christ at an early age at the Mount Enon Missionary Baptist Church, her childhood church in Dayton Ohio, where she served as an usher for many years. In 1998, she and her husband joined the First Church of God, Columbus Ohio. At First Church, Sharon served on the Usher, Youth, and Diaconate ministries.

On April 27, 1996, Sharon married Fon R. Holloway, the love of her life, and they have been blessed with 28 ½ years of marriage in which they have accomplished the majority of their many dreams/goals, like building their home, going to Hawaii and Europe, and their ultimate goal of parenting two wonderful children, Jalin Fon (24) and Ciana Denise (22) who are now both college graduates. Sharon was the matriarch of the "Hollodome" who made it a home, a safe haven, a place of dreams and goals, and most of all a place of love for each member of the family and others who visited.

In addition to her academic excellence, Sharon was talented and enjoyed displaying her skills in multiple creative endeavors. She was skilled in sewing, card and book making, photography, scrapbooking, wedding coordination, and many were fans of her lemon pound cake and peach cobbler. She was known for creating memorable items and moments that resulted in lifetime keepsakes/memories for friends and family.

Family meant everything to Sharon. She was a phenomenal daughter, loving sibling, supportive aunt, outstanding wife, extraordinary mother, and compassionate godmother. She was always a willing participant in planning and executing family trips, reunions, and dinners, etc. because she believed in the importance of family members staying connected. Sharon was known to be a very generous person in many ways and always made sure that her family and others had what they needed to be successful.

Sharon's professional career began while still in high school when she worked at General Motors. She later went on to work for Nexis Lexis (formerly Mead Data Central), and then moved on to Battelle Memorial Institute where she served for approximately 28 years. At Battelle, Sharon served in multiple capacities with her most recent being, Director, End User Support. Also, Sharon was a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Notary Public.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Jake Stovall, and sister, Sheila Stovall. Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Fon; son, Jalin Fon; daughter, Ciana Denise; mother, Dorothy Stovall; brother Frederick (Kimberly) Stovall, sister Sherry (Ralph) Wilcoxson; nephews, Joshua Stovall, Frederick Mitchell Stovall II, Franklyn Michael Stovall, Clinton Ralph Wilcoxson III, Julian Miles Wilkerson; nieces, Daphne Brooke Reed, Odera Wilcoxson, Jamie Mariel Wilkerson; goddaughters, Simone and Kendall Smith; dear friends, Donna Bates, Daryle and Nicole Cobb, Dale and Melanie Gresson, John and Judy Gore, Thomas and Shannon Teague, Jay and Nadia Wilkerson; and host of cousins, relatives and friends.
