Sha’Ronda L. Foster

Sha’Ronda La’Trece Foster, affectionately known as Donda, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. Born to Earlene Foster and Steve Mathews Sr. on August 1, 1969, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was known for her playful spirit, generosity and was a beacon of light who was loved dearly.

Sha’Ronda graduated from Columbus East High School and obtained her Associates Degree from Urbana University. She was competitive a natural athlete she excelled in several sports throughout her life, most notably playing in the National Women’s Football Association with the Columbus Comets.

Sha’Ronda’s good humor and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Always down for a good time and some mischief, she never let life’s challenges hold her back. She was a curious person full of questions as well as her own opinions. Gifted with an amazing memory and the love of laughter she was full of entertaining stories, sometimes with a hint of exaggeration. Known to give everyone a nickname followed by a hard time but always in a fun-loving way. She truly treasured being around people especially events that involved family and food. Sha’Ronda enjoyed watching her Dallas Cowboys, cooking shows, collecting sneakers, listening to music, talking trash taking pictures mainly of herself and food.

Remembered for her resilience, silliness, love and loyalty, Sha’Ronda made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her family and friends. Sha’Ronda truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it.

Sha’Ronda’s departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who deeply loved her. To know her was to love her.

Sha’Ronda was preceded in death by her parents Earlene Elder (Foster) and Steve Mathews, brother, Steve Mathews Jr.

Sha’Ronda is survived by sisters, Maureen (Sean) Grant and Sparkle Williams; nephews, Miles Cervi, Mason Cervi, and Sean Walker; niece, Alexis Walker; bonus daughter, Jaionna Sharp; and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation 11:00am and Celebration of Life 12:00pm Friday, May 31, 2024 at Mt. Zion COGIC, 1466 Atcheson St.
