Shirley Jane Chapman was born on March 18,1943 to Eddie Howard and Mary Ivalue Chapman in Columbus, Ohio. Shirley was called home to Glory on December 11, 2019.

Shirley attended East and West High Schools. Shirley accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at Jordan Holiness Church. Shirley had 5 beautiful children, Japhrone, Aquanice, Petria, Dushawn, and Adriane. Shirley retired from Big Bear after 30 years of service Shirley was a member of The Eastern Stars in Columbus, OH. Shirley was also a long-time member of the Columbus Flames MCC. Shirley loved her family, friends, her blues and dancing Shirley had a love for fishing, traveling, light gambling, The OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

Shirley was welcomed to Heaven by her loving mother, Mary Ivalue Chapman; father, Eddie Howard; and bonus mother, Evelyn Howard; grandmother, Inez Cochran; great grandmother, Kallie Howard; grandfather, Noble Chapman Sr.; brothers, Eddie B, Billy, Samuel Howard, and Donald Stewart; sister, Patricia Howard; special aunts, Rowena Bozeman, Shirley A. Chapman, Rose Nowell, and Emma Jean Stewart; uncle, Noble Chapman Jr.; and grandson, Andre Gilbert.

Shirley leaves to carry on her legacy, children, Japhrone, Aquanice, Petria, Dushawn, and Adriane Chapman; daughter of her heart, Patricia Baker; brothers, Paul David Howard and Jessi Larry; sisters, Jerri Howard, Deborah Howard, Lydia Howard, Sheridan Amos, Tracy Baker and Vera Jackson; uncle, Phonoey (Shirley) Chapman; 24 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; dear friends, Judith Holman, Elsie Wilkes, Wilma Turner, Mae Connie Ellis, Eunice Burkes, Carol Hawkins, Elizabeth Bertha, Wanda Jones, Barbara Turns, Delores Petty, Debbie Thomas, Lester Triplett Ms. Rosemary, and Olivia Blanklinship.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
