Sister Lurlene Moore

Lurlene Moore was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie Witcher and Adelaide Witcher Reed. Husband, Rufus E. Moore. Daughter, Michelle Denise Tinsley. Four (4) brothers; Kermit, Luther, George and Veroman Witcher, Sr. (Rev. Carole) and five (5) sisters; Annie Kate Harper, Ruth Ervin, Minnie Williams, Beatrice Witcher and Loretta McDonald.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; Maso Moon, Jr. (Kristy Assmann) and Kenneth E. Moore, Sr. (Charlotte). Twelve (12) grandchildren: Kimberly, Tamika, Deshawn, Kennitha, Bonita, Kenneth, Jr., Hezekiah, Carmen, Carly, Maso III, Candace and Taylor. Seventeen (17) great grandchildren, four (4) great, great grandchildren (and one on the way). Nephews; Carlos aka Snap, Veroman Jr., Duan, Michael and Lorenzo. Nieces; Ann, Belinda and Kim. Along with a host of great nephews/nieces, cousins (Witcher’s/McDaniels) and The New Birth Christian Ministries Family. Lurlene was raised in Gilliam, West Virginia. She attended both Elkhorn and Central High Schools. She left the hills of West Virginia and lived in Puerto Rico and then came to Columbus, Ohio in the late 50’s where she and her two children lived on Stanbaugh. It was there where she met Rufus Moore, her soul mate, the man who spoiled her and the man who made her his #1 Doll.
In the 60’s Lurlene worked for Woolco Dept. Store and Westinghouse. In the 70’s she worked in the home health and foster care fields. She was an entrepreneur who sold Watkins Products, pens, calendars, t-shirts, hats, cups, numbers, and everything under the kitchen sink. She was an avid bowler and league organizer. She was the visionary behind New Birth Senior Choir and Seniors on The Move.

She loved music, dancing, playing her guitar, traveling in her motor home or by van or car, family, friends and watching the Cleveland Browns and Cavs. But most of all she loved The Lord and New Birth Christian Ministries. So, in following her example “let us embrace every moment, love deeply and live life to the fullest.”
