In Loving Memory of Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young, a loving daughter, sister, mother, and cherished friend. Born on August 1, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio, Ta’Kiya’s vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She departed this world on August 24, 2023, in Sandusky, Ohio, at the age of 21.
Ta’Kiya’s journey through life reflected her captivating personality and zest for living. She enjoyed her role in the Customer Service industry, bringing joy and laughter to guests at Cedar Point, where she was employed. Ta’Kiya found joy in the simple pleasures of life, dedicating her time to activities such as cooking, dancing, and creating TikTok videos. Her vibrant spirit and prankster nature filled every room she entered, spreading laughter and light to all around her.
A resilient athlete, Ta’Kiya pursued her passion for track and field during her time at Champion Middle School and Bridgescape High School. Alongside her pursuits, she embraced her role as a loving mother to her two cherished sons, Ja’kobie and Ja’kenlei. Ta’Kiya eagerly anticipated the arrival of her little girl, a joy that was unfortunately not fulfilled.
Ta’Kiya’s legacy lives on through the enduring love of her surviving family members: her father, Timothy Young Sr.; her grandmother, Nadine Young; her sister, Ta’Nyla Young; her sister, Ta’Laya Hope; her brother, Timothy Young Jr.; her brother, Lazarus Young Lawson, and her great-grandmother, Johnnie Rouse. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Danneka Hope.
A funeral service will take place at The Church of Christ at Genessee Ave. 1889 Genessee Ave. on September 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.
Though we grieve the loss of Ta’Kiya, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her infectious laughter, and her genuine love for those around her. In our hearts, she will forever reside, her memory a beacon of strength and joy.
Forever loved and cherished, Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
