Tamika Loree Mangum

Tamika Loree’ Mangum was born on September 17, 1981. She departed this life on November 14, 2023, at OSU Hospital.

Tamika proceeded in death by her mother, Marlys Mangum.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Kamaria and Natousha Mangum; five nieces, Danae, Nakyla, Dionna, Ah’Niyah, and Kamryn; grandparents, Beverly Edwards, Louis (Emma) Mangum; uncle, Dwight (Charlene); her special aunt, Cheryl (John) Carter; aunts, Kee’ (Brian) Mosley, Teddra (Damon) Parish; a high school best friend, Tasha Morgan; her baby kitten, Nola; and a host of cousins, and friends.

Tamika was a graduate from Mifflin High School class of 1999, then went on and graduated from Cincinnati University in 2001 for Early Childhood Education. Tamika took her education experience to CDCFC Head Start where she started her teaching career. Tamika then went back to college and proudly received her bachelor’s in science in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2012! She then started her social work career at Columbus area until she moved on to the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Tamika enrolled back into college at Capella University where she was working on her master’s degree, however her sickness got in the way of her completing, but in our hearts she already Mastered it!

Tamika’s life was cut short but her time here on earth, she lived as much as she could; Traveling all over enjoying the world. She loved watching football as she was most proud to cheer for The Ohio State Buckeyes! Her proudest title was Aunt Meka. She loved her nieces more than anyone. Everyone that met Tamika knew she was an aunt. Tamika’s last special words to her nieces were, “Y’all made my life.” Tamika left a mark in all of our lives, and she will be missed each and every day, our Golden Girl.
