Tasha Nicole Chavous Brown

Tasha Nicole Brown (Formerly Nikki Jeanne Gwynn), 54, entered eternal peace on September 13, 2022. She was born May 30, 1968, the second child of Leilani Brown-Gwynn and the late Lynn R. Gwynn in Columbus, Ohio. Her parents named her “Nikki Jeanne” from the famous American poet/writer Nikki Giovanni and her loving grandmother, the late Jeanne Chavous-Gwynn.

Tasha attended Centennial High School and Columbus State College. She was intelligent, bold, and always had a thirst for knowledge and was indeed a free spirit allowing life experiences to guide her as she beat to her own drum. She was an avid reader and dreamer, she loved music and the arts introduced to her by her aunt, the late Barbara Chavous, and she loved vibrant colors of pinks and purples.

Tasha was blessed with three beautiful children, Letisha, Steven, and Lisa, her greatest treasures that overjoyed her with all being smart, ambitious, and each graduating from The Ohio State University. Also, she loved and celebrated each of her nine grandchildren. Tasha was kind and cared for others, and often would give something as she said goodbye or leave something behind of hers; that was her sign she cared about you.

Together with her children, mother, brothers, and sister, she would gift her final gift that saved three lives as an organ donor, her final deed as she entered eternal peace.

Tasha is preceded in death by Father Lynn R. Gwynn, Grandparents Jeanne Chavous Gwynn and Judge Lawrence M. Gwynn, Grady and June Brown.

Left to cherish her memory, loving mother Leilani Gwynn; daughters Letisha Parks, Lisa Brown; Son Steven (Monique) Turner; brothers Pepe Gwynn, Derrick Nimmons; sister Sonja (Anthony) Rhynehardt; Grandchildren Ziona, Daniel, Majesty, Glory, Charity, Lovely, David, Miracle, Harmony Reed; Nieces Kaylin Gwynn, Lelani Rhynehardt, LaShina (Eddie) Coley; nephews Elijah and Carter Easter; Uncles Garth (Kathy) Gwynn (Houston), Richard Thomas; Great-Aunt Leslie Chavous-Hunter (Chicago); Cousins Eden Cowans, Sidney (Dan) Fields (Boston), Mark Chavous (Boston), Heath Hunter (Chicago), Alicia and Marshall Thigpen, Madison and Chavous Gwynn (Houston), Sandee Herring, Libby Fields-Watkins; Best Friend Mr. Anthony Martin; speical friends Glen Parks, Steven Newton, Johnny Ajako, Denise Wood, Tomiko Glover, Doris Tolbert, Rhonda Tatum; Gwynn Family, Rhynehardt Family, Parks Family, Slade Family, Boyce Family, Wilborn Family, Richardson Family, Bolden Family, Bailey Family, Fields Family, Turner Family, and a host of many other friends and relatives.
