Terry Lamar Allen Sr.

April 27, 1956 — June 6, 2024

Terry Lamar Allen Sr. also known as "Quick", "Uncle Cool", "Uncle Ace", and "Black", was born April 27, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the second of five children born to Norma Jean (Leonard) Allen and the late Martin T. Allen. He was educated in the Columbus Public School System. He attended Linden McKinley High School. He was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church and sang with the Male Chorus.

He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran.

He was united in holy matrimony to Debra G. Newton in 1980, and from this union, had four children; Terry Lamar Jr., Jeffrey Lavaughn, Tamara Jean, and Tiffany Lynette.

He was a lover of music and man, did he love his music! He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He was known for his love of family and friends, and he had many. He loved family gatherings, family reunions, and his times travelling "down south". He absolutely loved and looked forward to getting together with his "old classmates" at the "annual class and neighborhood reunions". He met no strangers. Terry lived his life to the absolute fullest!

On Thursday morning, June 6, 2024, Terry transitioned from service to reward leaving a deep and personal loss to his family, relatives, and a personal bereavement to his many friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Booker T. and Learlie L. Allen; father, Martin T. Allen; sons, Terry Lamar Jr., and Jeffrey Lavaughn Allen.

Terry is survived by his mother, Norma Jean Allen; two daughters, Tamara Jean Allen, Tiffany Lynnette (Reginald) Hairston of Columbus, OH; four sisters, Marcia (Gary) Wilson, Vanessa Allen-Hopkins, L. Kay Dalton of Hanover, MD, and Stephanie (Brian) Davis of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Temir L. "Hoss" Mosley-Allen, Reyana, Reigna, Reagan, Reginald "Sonny" Hairston Jr., and Raphael "Spank" Woody, all of Columbus, OH; aunt, Patsy (Othello) Berry of Columbus, OH; uncle, Calvin (Sharon) Leonard of St. Augustine, FL. He also leaves to cherish his memory, Fiance’, Linda Jean Johnson and his best friend of many, many years, Ronald L. Pearce. He also leaves to mourn a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tears will leave no stains; Time will ease the pain. For every light that fades; something beautiful remains.
