Thomasina Jacobs

Thomasina Elaine Jacobs was born on April 5, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to Thomas E. and Ellen E. Jacobs. She transitioned into eternal rest on November 23, 2021 with her son by her side after a long heroic battle with cancer.

Thomasina attended and graduated from Linden McKinley High School as the official “Panther” mascot in 1968. She continued her education at Kent State University pursuing a major in Communications. After returning to Columbus to assist her father as the Office Manager for Jacobs & Sons Moving and Storage, she accepted employment at the Franklin County Welfare Department as a Counselor/Social Worker. In 1979, she made a career change and became a Peace Officer graduating from the Columbus Police Academy; she faithfully served and protected her community in various jobs throughout her career until she gracefully retired in 2009. After retirement from Columbus Division of Police, she regained employment with her cousin Todd Wilson as Safety Officer at Accelerated Laboratory Logistics, which was originally founded by her grandfather Clarence A. Jacobs in 1921.

Thomasina was affectionately known as “Thommie” by all of her friends and family. She started a photography business as a ministry of love and friendly gesture to a few close friends. before long she was making calendars and photo albums for anyone who asked, and her work was always professional and creative. She loved putting a smile on the faces of parents when they saw the finished masterpiece from their children’s photos; it was always a surprise when you laid eyes on the finished product.

Preceded in transition by her great-grandparents: John H. and Mary M. Jacobs; grandparents: Clarence A. Jacobs and Margaret Johnson; parents: Thomas E. and Ellen E. Jacobs and Brother Whitney Sessoms.

She leaves to cherish her memory Son: Kalomo Kibwe Yero Sr; Sisters: Angela (Phillip) Metoyer, Doretha Sessoms, Crystal Hall-Boyce; Brother: Roger (Kaitlyn) Jacobs all of Columbus Ohio, Grandchildren: T’Myra Turner, Brooklyn Jacobs, Darrion Holland, Michael Pegues III, and Kalomo Jacobs II; Great-grandchildren: A’Mira Turner, Theori Jacobs, Malachi James, and Jackson Gray. Thommie dedicated her life’s energy to God, family, and community, which continues through the donation of herself to science to further serve humanity.
