Todd Dwight Nesbitt

Todd was born at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, May 31, 1970 and ended his earthly journey peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in his residence.

Todd was precocious at an early age. He roamed the neighborhood at 1520 Kohr Place, often found driving his Big Wheel greeting everyone he met.

Todd’s great-grandparents (Ernest & Gracie Nesbitt) whom he called “Mama and Daddy,” and great-great-grandmother (Minnie Langford Stewart) whom he called “Mama Minnie” assisted in his early childhood development and rearing.

Much of Todd’s early educational development took place in the Linden Community. His formal education was through Columbus City Schools. He was employed at Tomasco prior to his accident on April 1, 1991.

Todd was introduced to Christ at an early age under the instruction of Mama Grace. Todd was baptized at Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ (COGIC) under Superintendent Richard L. Hairston Sr., his first pastor. Todd later sought the Lord at Temple of Faith COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Roger J. Hairston, Sr. & late uncle Elder Michael R. Nesbitt, Sr. Todd was an original member of a Children’s Choir called, “Templettes” under Sister Bernistine McDearmon-Miller.

Todd played Little League Football with the Linden Eagles in his youth and loved The Ohio State University Football. He could often be found on game day dressed in his Buckeye gear watching television and rooting for his home team. Todd’s favorite pastime was Barbequing for family gatherings, entertaining friends, traveling to Tennessee for the Charlotte Reunion in Promise Land, Tennessee, going to Detroit, Michigan to see his Langford cousins, Akron and Cleveland, Ohio to visit the Edmondson family (cousins Geneva Riddick, Corene Edmondson-Young, Kim and Al). He loved fishing on Lake Huron while living in Sandusky, Ohio, cooking and enjoying each day of his life to its fullest. Sunday, May 31, 2020 – Todd turned the Big Five Zero “50” — Oh boy! He had a Humdinger of a Birthday Party, which was Todd’s style with plenty of food and beverages for all. He was very fond of spending quality time with his little “Big Brother” Telly Lee, whom he admired and always looked up to as a role model. He also eagerly awaited his weekly big care packages from his loving big sister (Toka), who delivered them with loving care. It was her way of going the extra mile and spoiling him.
