Trenda Gaynell Lisath was born on April 10, 1954 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Mother Ruth and Mr Wilbur Lisath. She is the 9th child of twelve siblings, eight boys and four girls.
She attended school in the Portsmouth school system. Raised in the church, she was baptized and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was astute in the study of the word of God, and enjoyed sharing the word of God with everyone she met. She was a faithful member of The Temple of Praise and was ordained a Deaconess under the pastoral care of Bishop Edward E. Shouse, Sr. until her health prevented her from attending.
Always having a love for art and design she began painting in her early adult years and was able to sell some of her work while living in New York City with her brother the late Bishop Roy B. Lisasth. It was at that time that she managed his fabric store Jesro Fabrics, as she also enjoyed sewing. While there she formed a special bond with her nieces and nephews and was involved in helping raise them. Upon her return to Ohio she co-founded a clothing company “Fashions by Lisath” along with her brother Jeffrey Lisath.
When she wasn’t sewing, painting, or studying God’s word, she enjoyed discussing politics and how it related to the word of God. She loved movies and enjoyed the “Star Trek” series. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her sweet potato pies. She used her love of learning painting, sewing and cooking, as life lessons for all of her nieces and nephews. Her handprint on them is undeniable. She loved them all so dearly. As adults, they all have an “Aunt Trenda” story. Trenda’s love for her family always shined through with the warmth of her beautiful smile and her willingness to help. You could almost always find her hanging out with her family, when she wasn’t at church serving the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Wilbur Lisath, her brothers Michael Lisath, William Lisath, Perry Gene Lisath, Roy Lisath, and Kenny Lisath.
She leaves to cherish her memory sister’s Rose Marie Lisath- Shouse (Edward) Cynthia Lisath, Ruth Lisath all of Columbus, Ohio Jeffrey Lisath (Debra) Dayton, Ohio Mark Lisath (Denise) of Columbus Ohio, and Richard Lisath of Portsmouth Ohio. Special daughters Lisa Lisath, Leah Griggs (Bill) Liana Allen (Ron) Brook’lin Lisath ,MyKeia Lisath, and special sons Roy J. Lisath (Stephanie) and Darnell Lisath.
She also leaves a host of 32 first generation nieces, nephews, and a great host of cousins and friends .
Her favorite scripture was: “The race is not given to the swift nor to the strong but to the one who endureth until the end.” Ecclesiastes 9:11
