It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Veronique Guylain (Johnson) Ansley, who left us on January 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Veronique was born on February 12, 1957, in Pacey, France to Renee Andree (Le Quellec) Johnson. After Renee met and married Thomas L. Johnson, who was on military assignment and stationed at Evreux-Fauville Air Force Base in France, they moved and settled at Lockbourne Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio in 1964.
Veronique grew up in central Ohio with her three siblings, Nathalie, Christopher, and Samantha. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle School, St. Francis DeSales High School, and later Ohio Dominican University. She met and married Terry Ansley, and together they welcomed their son, Terry Ansley Jr. in 1981. Shortly after, they relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. Raising her son, whom she lovingly called Buckwheat, was Veronique's most fulfilling accomplishment, and she devoted her life to creating a loving home filled with laughter, care, and warmth.
During her time in Arizona, Veronique worked for Motorola and continued to build a life that reflected her creative spirit and hardworking nature. Several years ago she and her son returned to Columbus, and she worked for a time for Giant Eagle until she retired. Veronique was a private and fiercely independent person with a talent for cooking (a gift likely inherited from her mother). She was a "do-it-yourselfer", never afraid to take on projects with determination and skill.
Veronique also had a love for horses and dogs, and owned several over the years including most recently her beloved French Bulldogs Louis and Nugget.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Johnson and Renee (Le Quellec) Johnson; and nephew, Kipp Johnson.
Veronique is survived by her beloved son, Terry Ansley Jr. Also left to cherish her memory are siblings, Nathalie Stewart, Christopher (Wendy) Johnson, and Samantha (Charles) Carr; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Veronique's memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.
May she rest in peace, forever remembered for her vibrant personality and the love she brought to all who knew her.
