Walter E. Stewart Sr., 83 years old, was born July 12, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio. Walter made his peaceful transition to be with the Lord on Thursday November 9, 2023 at Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio.
Walter was reunited with his wife of 51 years, Theresa (Hairston) Stewart, parents Hasker and Hattie Stewart, mother and father-in-law Maude and Eugene Hariston, brothers Donald Stewart, Gail Stewart, and Dail Stewart whom all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his four children, daughters Renada (Sherrod) Manns, Aubree Manns, Robin (Rock) Jones, son Walter Stewart Jr., five grandchildren, grandsons Antiwan Fraley, Kayden Stewart, granddaughters Asia Anderson, Simya Hutchins, Sabrina Gram, four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Walter was an intelligent and talented man. Everything he did with a passion. He credited the Lord for his faith and life over the span of his life. He graduated from East High School. He worked at Buckeye Steel Franklin County Contractor, Coca-Cola, and he retired from Agria Laboratory and started his own business full-time, Stewart’s Painting Company. If fishing was a paid job, he would have been employee of the year and even a millionaire. Walter had a great work ethic. He constantly set an example as a hard-working man.
Walter was a loving man. His world revolved around his family. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and also telling stories. He enjoyed spending time with his basketball friend at White Castle where he shared many laughs. He sacrificed everything for his family’s needs. Walter has a passion in fishing. He was the king in fishing. He loved basketball. He was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. He enjoyed swimming, traveling, vacation time and putting smiles on everyone’s faces. He was a kind-hearted person. He was never judgmental. He accepted everyone with an open heart. He enjoyed witnessing to others about Christ.
